Echoendoscopic gastroenteroanastomosis by placement of a lumenal apposition metal stent (LAMS)
The technique of the echoendoscopic gastroenteroanastomosis procedure by placing a lumenal apposition metal stent (LAMS).
– The patient is supine, oro-tracheal intubated
– A naso-cystic drain is placed distal to the stenosis (through a gastroscope or on a guidewire placed under radiological control)
– Serum colored with methylene blue is instilled for distension of the small intestine
– Under ultrasound and radiological control, an intestinal loop can be seen adjacent to the gastric wall
– The LAMS type prosthesis is placed with the externalization of the colored serum at the gastric level
– Liquid nutrition resumes at 24h, and with solid food, initially mashed, at 72h
